  So in the title on the book its The Great Gatsby so we know its about Gatsby. He hosts weekly parties for the rich and fashion. Also the narrator Nick he served in the army in WW1. He moved to the east because he wanted to become a bon traitor on Wall st. So he rented a small house in Long Island, NY that is between large mansions. One of them belong to Gatsby. When Gatsby hosted parties he would set him self apart from the party like if he was look for something.
